Preseason Final Match vs. JV
We were a little sluggish to begin this thing. Yes, I know we play the JV every day, but still we have a huge match to open the season Friday.
We did do some nice things tonight. I, however, had to notice some very good goalkeeping by Joe Denning. He just made some fabulous saves. There was one sequence where he made two diving saves in a matter of seconds.
JV did break us down a couple of times down the right, our left. They did not score, but I would hate to see Steven Enna in the same location with the ball on his foot.
Engle does such a good jog of connecting to our feet out of the goal area. He needs a lot more distance on his punts, but by allowing us possession from his quick releases, he does help us build.
Coach Hammons asked for more attack of the baseline at halftime as we had generated 4 corners, only. Well, we created one second half.
My final take-away is just for us to play even harder and close space even faster. That is what game we are in for Friday night for TROOP OUT.
First Half Stats: Varsity 17 (9) Shots; 4 corners, 4 dangerous balls. JV: 2 (2) shots, No corners, No dangerous balls

2nd Half
9:49 Martin (Gaspo slots a very nice ball sending Skyler to goal)
24:00 Hagenkord (Johnston fills the right lane offering up the perfect "D" ball for an on-running Hagenkord)
28:35 Johnston (Jay comes up once again as Hagenkord passes through a Bartlett dummy, cuts in, and bends it toward goal with the cross glazing the defender before going in)
