Game 16 @ BVSW 17 October
Well our skid reached 3 tonight as we fell to the Timberwolves 2-0, and it could have easily been 3 as they missed a shot late that Engel made a nice save on.
We actually looked pretty good first half as we generate some nice chances to pair with 5 corners that we created. SW only got off one shot; of course, it found net as we were told that we kept them onside at outside back for a breakaway goal. (But seriously the video suggests it isn't even close; in fact, the left back is in proper position on the second line with their striker clearly ahead of our centerback by 8 yards just after the ball is played; we do have to extrapolate where Holland is on the touch, but hey we didn't score anyway.)
Second half we made some adjustments to try to create more attack, and we did have the ball in the Southwest end 80% of the time for those first 18 minutes, but then boom it was 2-0 them as they counter us rather easily with a very nice finish.
We are in a free fall right now. But I think we will be fine; we just need to get our starters back from injury and sickness. We were missing 4 tonight, and despite some very good soccer at times we just could not hold ourselves together defensively enough to give us a chance to win the match.
Matthew Holland was the BWhite Player of the Match at the centerback position. He was still working his tail off while the clock was clicking off the final seconds.
