State Semis @ Goddard vs. Bishop Carroll 8 November (4-2)

Game 20: State Semis vs. Bishop Carroll @ Goddard @ 5:00 8 November

CatchitKansas Write-up

This was one for the ages, one to go down in Aquinas lore. We are down 2-1 against the WIND and it deserves to be capitalized as in 29 MPH. We eked out one goal on a PK first half with that wind, and now here we were against it.

Tyler went back in at forward (we were playing in a diamond all second half) with about 26 to go. We began to hit his feet; he held the ball, turned, found others going forward.  All of a sudden we had an attack again. We end up scoring 3 goals from that point on to win 4-2.

I also have to compliment our midfield's play in the second half.  For the most part we had Geist, Hagenkord, Bartlett and Brown as the diamond. But we also used Castinado and Ropson.  We out possessed them substantially during the half. And Nick won so many balls in the air.

And Luke Kutey probably had his best performance of the year. He just busted tail all match, pressuring all over the field. It finally paid off with his t-ball that stretched the lead all the way to two during the final 10 minutes of the match.

BWhite named Ben Moss Player of the Match as his defense was stellar and his goal on the deadball got us tied. It was huge. But he also gives a big shoutout to Kutey and Stoecklein.
